With summer here, you can bet that it’s the perfect time to throw parties. As we’ve mentioned in our previous posts, “5 Things Anyone Planning a Party Should Know!”,“Party Trends for Summer 2018”, and “8 Signs You Need a Caterer/Event Planner” Summer is a great time to get people together to beat the heat, reconnect since all of the college students are usually back home, and entertain guests in a multitude of ways. With the endless possibilities of the types of parties that you can throw this summer, there’s going to be one question that everyone finds themselves asking, “Where will I throw this Party?” Yup, that’s right. This is the question that can sometimes be the most challenging to answer. Finding and choosing the right location for your event can be a challenge at times. With the varying party trends and venues today, the possibilities of what one may be looking for and actually able to find at a venue can almost impossible to find. And while there are those that may have an idea of where they would like to host there party, they still have to make sure that everything that they see for their party can come to fruition in the space that they have in mind. Will you need parking permits or valet? How about event permits? Insurance?

Yeah, picking the perfect location for your party can be quite a process and that’s why we’ve written today’s blog post so that you can have a guide for what to look for in a party location. 5 Things You Should Look For in Your Party Location

1. Location

Location, Location, Location! Yup, you guessed it, location! The location of your event is everything. Does your party call for an outdoor location? How about a bar or showroom in Downtown Los Angeles? Either way, picking the right location is a must. But it isn’t the only one. In choosing the location for your event, means having to consider the actual location of the space. How far is the location from your guests? Are there some guests who are closer to the location while others are pretty far out there? Perhaps having a party in a part of town that’s the middle ground for all of your guests is something that you’ll have to consider.

Another thing to look at in your party location is how the guests will be able to get onto the property and if they will need any form of accommodations. If there are individuals on your guest list that you know will need special accommodations, it’s best to take that into consideration for you event as well. If you aren’t completely sure if there will have to be accommodations in place, then having someone there with you while your planning your event to catch things like this is just what you need. Having an event planner to assist you in the process of finding the locations and considering if they will be able to allow for guests to enter the property as well as facilitate the needs of your party such as electricity, wifi, and more is a must have.

Last but not least, when looking for a location for your party, having an event planner that knows what venus to contact and even has exclusive relationships with some is something to think about. If you’re having a large party and need someone to contact venues, contact us today and we’ll be happy to assist you in the process.

2. Make sure the location fits your party theme

Picking the right location for your party is everything and as we all know, in order to have that extra something to wow your guests and make your party one to remember, you have to have the right location for the theme. If your planning on having a large event or even a small one, having a location that matches your party’s theme will completely make the difference. Depending on the theme of your party, renting a location may be in your future and with that come some additional expenses such as insurance, rentals, staff charges and more which can be difficult to manage in addition to facilitating the needs of your party in themselves.

If you think that you’re going to have to host your party at a location outside of your own property, it’s best to bring in an event planner that will be able to assist you in the design the event itself. Luckily, we at Randy Fuhrman Events, RFE, have your back. Event Design, Management, and Consulting are all a part of the quality services offered by us. 3. Parking

When you have an event of any size, having parking for your guest is an absolute must. No matter if it’s a house party or one at a location that you’re renting, having a place for your guests to park is one of the first things that you have to consider when having people over. Will they be parking on the street or will you have to get a valet service? Even though it may sound like an easy task to achieve, finding parking solutions for your event can post a challenge due to the location of the party, weather conditions and more. If you’re looking for parking solutions for your party and need some assistance, feel free to contact us today. With Randy Fuhrman Events being full-service, guest parking is something that we also handle for your event. Having relationships with various valet companies, we can provide you with a multitude of solutions.

4. Accessibility

As we mentioned earlier, making sure that your location can accommodate any anticipated or unanticipated special needs is something to consider. You can use your guest list to plan for this, but ultimately it’s best to be prepared no matter who you may be expecting. As we know, life can have unexpected moments, so why not be ready for them? Making sure that you location has a ramp and bathroom that is close enough to guests and is easy to get to is one of the first things to ensure. Making sure that there is an elevator to the bathroom if it’s above the first floor is something to do if you’re dealing with a location with more than one story.

5. Costs

The thing that is at the forefront of everyone’s mind yet often most forgotten or overlooked. The cost of your party. How much will the whole thing cost? You’ll have to create a budget to see where spending has to be done so that budgeting and purchasing decisions can be made. With invitations - don’t forget you’ll also need stamps -, your catering, guest arrangements, flowers, rentals, parking, locations and more, calculating the exact cost can be a challenge if you haven’t done so before. Especially if you find yourself running into unexpected costs such as liability insurance, extra decorations, additional beverages, etc. Planning a party is a lot more than just putting elements together. It also requires financial management.
